Living by faith by Barry Bennett

Living by Faith

Living by faith is like watching a recorded sports event on TV in which you already know your team won. You watch to see how they won, but you don’t doubt that they won. Even if the game is going badly for your team, you have no fear because you already know the final score. As a spectator you are at peace. You have the evidence of a score not yet seen.

Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. (Acts 27:25)

Faith is what we know before the events of life play out. Faith is God speaking the outcome to our hearts. It is the evidence of things not yet seen. True faith will produce a peace that passes understanding. You know you are in faith when you are walking in peace and in the joy of the Lord.

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: (Rom. 5:1)

Instead of the word ‘justified’ you could just as easily insert: healed, delivered, led, provided for, reconciled and strengthened. We are healed, delivered, led, etc., by faith. Faith is the evidence of the outcome before it ‘comes out!’

Faith doesn’t fear sickness because it knows that you are already healed. Faith doesn’t fear failure or guilt or challenges because you know the end from the beginning. God has already spoken to your heart that you will overcome. You can do all things through Christ. No weapon formed against you can prosper. You are at peace!
